Get ready for a scorcher.
In a special weather statement Environment Canada says the east coast of Vancouver Island, from Duncan to Campbell River, is in for a hot weekend. Temperatures will start to climb Friday and push into the low 30s by Sunday for areas away from the immediate coast.
Environment Canada says you can expect quite stagnant air and that there’s a chance wildfire smoke will eventually make its way out to the coast. The heat is expected to stick around until at least Tuesday.
