Strathcona Regional District has sent some emergency funding to the Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society. The grant is worth $5,000.
The district says the money is meant to help MARS cope with its current workload. Not only is the organization short on volunteers but it’s also seen an increase in work since their new facility opened last spring.
