UPDATE: B.C. Hydro says the work will now begin today, instead of tomorrow. People are being asked to keep away from the area from today until Thursday.
CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-BC Hydro says it’s that time of the year.
Crews will be cleaning built up pond weed from the water intakes on the John Hart Dam. BC Hydro says the gunk is starting to cause some moderate pressure issues.
While crews clean it out extra water is going to be released down Elk Falls Canyon. The two-day cleaning process will be happening tomorrow and Thursday with people are being asked to keep away from the Campbell River above Elk Falls while it’s happening.
