CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-The Strathcona Regional District’s 2018-2022 Financial Plan has been adopted; and it come with a tax increase for Campbell River residents.
The average household SRD property tax in the city is expected to go up $12.62 to $333.40, an increase of 3.9 per cent over last year. For comparison Electoral Area D is getting the highest increase at 6.6 per cent while Part Electoral Area A – Sayward’s increase is the lowest at 0.7 per cent.
The SRD says taxation rates are based on the amount of services like water, sewer and solid waste management provided to a region.
The financial plan outlines the SRD’s approved projects and initiatives for the next five years, including the $45.4 million Connected Coast, and moving on to the schematic design phase of the Strathcona Gardens renovations. You can see the plan for yourself at the SRD’s website.
