CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C- It was another successful Bowl for Breath in Campbell River.
The 30th annual edition of the fundraiser brought in more than $8,000. That money goes to Cystic Fibrosis Canada. It was held last month at Campbell River Bowling & Billiards.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs, but also causes pancreas, liver, kidney and intestine issues. It can make breathing difficult or interfere with the proper digestion of food so that sufferers don’t get proper nutrition.
According to Cystic Fibrosis Canada it is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults and has no cure. Bowl for Breath in Campbell River, over its 30 years, has raised roughly $350,000.
