Electric scooter left out by Thunderbird Hall, resident looking for owner

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – An electric scooter was left behind by Thunderbird Hall.

Campbell River resident Cheryl Drake is looking for the scooter’s owner. According to her, it has been in the area for the past few days but no one has come for it.

“I know it doesn’t belong to anyone around here (the neighbourhood), or it would be gone,” Drake said.

Drake added that she knew how expensive electric scooters are, but she worries whoever the owner is may not be well.

“I don’t know what happened or anything… what if the person who walked away has dementia and they don’t know where they left it (the scooter)?”

Drake posted pictures of the scooter on social media and asked around for the owner, but she said she still doesn’t know whose it might be.

As of publication, the scooter is still where it has been near Thunderbird Hall.

Roni-Anne Hudak, bylaw administrator at the city’s Bylaw Enforcement Department said they have not received calls regarding the scooter. She added that if no one claims the scooter soon, the department will send someone out to collect it and take it to Dogwood Operations Centre.
