More support is coming to the homeless in Campbell River and the Strathcona Regional District.
The Strathcona Regional District, in partnership with the City of Campbell River, is getting over $1 million in provincial and federal funding for their Unsheltered Homelessness Response Project.
The province says the money will be used “to help fill service delivery gaps caused by the pandemic.”
It’s part of the Strengthening Communities Program, which is divvying out funds to 48 communities across B.C.Â
The province says $76 million dollars will support local governments to combat the impacts of homelessness, as communities recover from the pandemic.
