Firefighters were able to knock down a structure fire on Ebert Road late Tuesday night before it could spread.
People were at the home when the fire started at around 8 pm, but all of them managed to evacuate before the fire department arrived, says Campbell River Fire Chief Dan Verdun.
He says it took nearly six hours to get the fire under control, calling it stubborn. Approximately 25 firefighters were involved, they wrapped up shortly before 2 am Wednesday morning.
The fire chief says the cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.
