The power is back on for most homes in Campbell River, after nearly 2,800 were dark this morning after last night’s storm.
The River is also back on air and online, after our station and transmitter were without power since late last night.
The outages started after 5 pm last night when winds picked up. ost of the outages affecting those living east of Inland Island Highway, Island Highway, North of 9th Avenue, West of Island Highway, and South of Macklin Road.
Other places affected include east of Joyce Road, the 2100 block of Valdez Drive, and west of Jenning Road.
Several hundred homes on Quadra and Cortes Islands are still without power, BC Hydro crews have been dispatched and estimate the power will be back on this afternoon and evening.
