Clark sworn in as Premier, unveils cabinet

Christy Clark has officially been sworn in as Premier.

Clark has also unveiled her new cabinet, with 5 new members and a number of familiar faces.

She notes that her minority government is now getting set to face a confidence vote when the legislature returns on June 22nd.

New additions to the cabinet are Linda Reid, Ellis Ross, Jas Johal, Jordan Sturdy and former Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan.

In full, Clark’s cabinet includes:

  • Rich Coleman — Deputy Premier, Energy and Mines
  • Mike de Jong — Finance
  • Andrew Wilkinson — Attorney General and Justice
  • Mike Bernier — Education
  • Mary Polak — Health
  • Todd Stone — Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Mike Morris — Public Safety and Solicitor General
  • Jordan Sturdy — Environment
  • Stephanie Cadieux — Children and Family Development
  • John Rustad — Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation
  • Norm Letnick — Agriculture
  • Shirley Bond — Jobs, Tourism and Labour
  • Steve Thomson — Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations
  • Ellis Ross — Natural Gas Development, Housing
  • Linda Reid — Advanced Education
  • Coralee Oakes — Small Business
  • Sam Sullivan — Community, Sport and Cultural Development
  • Michelle Stilwell — Social Development and Social Innovation
  • Jas Johal — Technology, Innovation and Citizens Services
  • Donna Barnett — minister of state for rural economic development

Clark still has 6 spots to fill that were left vacant by members who retired, like former Health Minister Terry Lake, or those who were defeated, including former Justice Minister Suzanne Anton.
