BC government turns down NDP plans again

The NDPs met in Legislature last week, and again introduced the Poverty Reduction Act.
MLA Claire Trevena says they introduced the plan a number of times now and the government refuses to pick up on it, or take on their own version of it.

The act would include a number of matters such as the government’s goals, the diverse needs of BC residents, as well as factors that may act as barriers to employment and economic inclusion.

As well, Power BC was introduced back in November, but the provincial government has again overlooked the NDP’s plan during legislation.

Trevena the plan gives a real opportunity for BC to show what they can be doing in creating renewable power by looking at wind, solar, and hydro power without building the mega dam.
Trevena says the impact of this is felt monthly in everyone’s skyrocketing hydro bills.
