ICBC is reminding drivers to keep an eye out for wildlife on the road.
Spokesperson Caroline Robinson says you should use caution, especially at dawn and dusk and in areas where there are wildlife warning signs on the side of the road.
Robinson says if an animal does appear in front of your vehicle and you don’t have enough time to avoid it, try to maintain control of your vehicle and steer to contact the animal at an angle so it doesn’t go through the windshield.
She adds to not approach the animal if you do hit one, but call conservation so they can deal with it appropriately.
