Yard waste collection wrapping up until spring

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Curbside yard waste collection in Campbell River is wrapping up on the last week of November.

According to a news release from the city, the drop-off centre remains open. Residents can take their materials and drop it all off at the yard waste drop-off centre from Friday to Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The drop off centre is located west of the Inland Highway (19A) off Willis Road, past the Shell gas station.

There is no charge for City of Campbell River residents to drop yard waste at the centre.

Residents who require chipping for branches and prunings can drop off their materials at the waste management centre at 6700 Argonaut Road. There will be a chipping fee of $6 for less than 100kg ($65/tonne).

The city is also reminding residents to put yard waste in rigid, lidded containers no larger than 80 litres, branches and prunings must be tied in bundles measuring a maximum 36 inches long and 24 inches wide.

Weekly curbside yard waste collection will start again in the spring, and will be available the same day as residential garbage and recycling collection.
