North Island College Trades Funding

The government of B.C. has released their skills for jobs blueprint.

This includes $12 million, which will be going towards 14 public post-secondary institutions for new trades’ equipment.

Development writer Christiana Wiens says North Island College has received $447,972 for equipment that is geared to in demand programs. Such as carpentry, electrical, and joinery, programs that are in demand on Vancouver Island.

The equipment purchased for the students will include a panel saw, transformations, inductors and an edge sander.
