Work to get underway on new waterfront Island Highway condo

Construction crews are getting started on Campbell River’s newest waterfront condominium building. With this in mind, delays are expected for drivers this week.

The City of Campbell River says the road around 536 South Island Hwy. will be reduced to temporary, single-lane alternating traffic tomorrow until Friday, between 7 am and 6 pm.

“Contractors will be working in this area to install the services to a new multi-family unit,” the city says.

“Please follow all directions on signs and from traffic control personnel. To avoid delays, please use alternative routes if possible.”

It was back in the summer when city council approved Crowne Pacific Development’s proposal for the five-storey, 24-unit, multi-family condominium.

The building will eventually fill the empty plot of land between Waterside Residences and Heron’s Landing Hotel, about 300 metres north of Rotary Beach Park.
