Two men charged with drug trafficking after search of Campbell River home

Campbell River RCMP say two men in their 60s were arrested for drug trafficking after a search warrant was executed on a home.

Officers say the search happened in the 300-block of Evergreen Road in mid-May and 10 people were found in the residence and in a motorhome on the property.

They add that 37 grams of crack cocaine, four grams of fentanyl, $720 in cash and a prohibited sawed-off shotgun were found and seized. Almost 20,000 illegal cigarettes were also found and seized.

The two men were arrested, and the rest were sent on their way, according to officers. They add trafficking and firearms charges are being recommended against the duo, and federal and provincial charges are also being considered for the cigarettes.

Anyone with information about criminal activity in the area is asked to call Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
