The Storm’s weekend series against Kerry Park

In the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) action over the weekend, the Campbell River Storm played a pair of games against the Kerry Park Islanders.

On Friday, they were stunned 3-2 by the visitors from Mill Bay before another big crowd at the Brindy. And on Sunday,  they traveled down Island and responded with a convincing 5-2 victory.

Storm captain Gage Colpron  picked up five points over the two game set, including a hat-trick on Sunday, adding to his league leading 22 points.

Other Campbell River goals came from Christian Brandt, Brett Witala, Braeden Cyra, and Keenan Scardina.

The first place Storm have some tough competition later in the week. On Thursday, they’re at the Nanaimo Ice Centre to face the second place Buccaneers. Then on Friday, they host the Westshore Wolves at home who are currently on a five-game winning streak.
