Today is Giving Tuesday.
The global event takes place after the consumer-craziness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Captain Gordon Taylor with the Salvation Army says giving is important for both individuals and the community.
The Salvation Army is currently running its Christmas Campaign and is also collecting winter coats through White Hat Cleaners.
