Soccer by the Sea scheduled for June 18

The City of Campbell River is inviting the community to an afternoon soccer viewing party celebrating Team Canada at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The event, called Soccer by the Sea, will feature an outdoor screening of Team Canada’s opening match against Qatar.

The city said several activities will also be available, including soccer-themed games led by the Campbell River Youth Soccer Association.

“Whether you’re a lifelong fan or simply looking for a fun way to spend time outdoors with friends and family, this event is a great opportunity to come together to celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of our community and share in the excitement of the game,” the city said in a news release.

Soccer by the Sea is scheduled for June 18 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Robron Park.

Funding for the event includes a $20,000 grant from the province’s 2026 Community Event Support Fund to support local celebrations tied to the World Cup.
