Centennial pool closed as police investigate break in

The Centennial Outdoor Pool in Campbell River is closed while police investigate damages to the change house.

“The city recognizes that this closure will be a disruption for pool users and aquatic programming participants. Groups with private bookings and participants registered in programs that are affected by the closures will be contacted directly,” reads a news release from the city. “Thank you for your patience and understanding while the investigation and repair work are completed.”

The city says staff are assessing the damage and working on repairs to restore the facility. Police are also on site conducting an investigation and the city ask residents to stay away from the facility as the work is underway.
