Local Officer Honoured To Ride For A Noble Cause

This year’s Campbell River Tour de Rock rider says she excited to be part of this year’s ride.

Constable Virginia Bessette is with the Campbell River RCMP detachment.

She says it’s an amazing opportunity to be a part of 20th running of the tour, which raises money for cancer research.

“Everyone has, in some shape, way or form, been affected by cancer.”

“I feel there’s not much better cause than raising money for kids with cancer.”

Every $1500 goes to send a child to Camp Goodtimes.

Since the fundraiser kicked off in 1998, over $20 million has been raised for kids with cancer.

The event kicks off September 23rd in Port Alice and donations can be made at the Cops For Cancer website.
