Helipad at new hospital gets tested

Campbell River’s new hospital’s helipad has been used for the first time. According to multiple reports Transport Canada was testing it Thursday.

It’s going through the agency’s certification process. The certification for the helipad has been a contentious issue.

That’s because the old hospital’s was rated H2 and the new one could be downgraded to H1. That would limit the kinds of helicopters that could land there. It’s also stated in the agreement to build the hospital that the helipad would be an H2.
