Rachel Blaney says she’s pleased Bill Morneau is being investigated.
Late last week the federal ethics commissioner said she’d be looking into the finance minister’s involvement in Bill C-27. If passed, it would affect pensions sold by his family company Morneau Shepell.
The North Island-Powell River MP says it’s a trust issue:
When the bill was introduced Morneau still had about $21 million in shares which he put in a numbered corporation, rather than a blind trust. Blaney says that’s not good enough:
Critics are calling the Bill C-27 issue a conflict of interest.
