There are some significant issues on the roads today.
Icy conditions have led to Highway 19 from Piercy Road to Hamm Road being closed by the RCMP while black ice is being reported on 19A. There have been multiple reports of crashes as well which is slowing down traffic along the highways in some areas.
On top of that there’s been a mudslide on Highway 19 southbound about 30km north of Campbell River. Traffic is down to one lane. If you don’t have to travel today you may want to avoid doing so.
