CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C- Campbell River Search and Rescue were called into action again on Wednesday night.
According to a press release from SAR, the team responded to a call about an injured hiker on the Elk River Trail in Strathcona Park.
The hiker had suffered burns to his legs and feet after a cooking accident, the group he was with was able to communicate his status to SAR via satellite radio. Â
The search team had to wait to send a helicopter due to the late time of the call, however they left early the next morning to rescue the hiker, landing at the trailhead. Â
The rescue was a success.
