DFO sampling for radioactive isotopes and to track climate change

Throughout the year the Department of Fisheries and Oceans do research and take samples to determine the health of the ocean environment.

Manager of the Ocean Science division at DFO, Robin Brown, says they are tracking the physical, chemical and plankton parts of the marine ecosystem.

He says they do sampling both offshore in the Pacific Ocean and in inshore waters.

Brown says they are also looking for any impacts from climate change.
