Campbell River RCMP reminding drivers to follow traffic controls on 16th Avenue

Campbell River RCMP are reminding drivers to prepare for upcoming traffic changes along the 16th Avenue corridor.

“Police are already receiving a significant amount of complaints regarding motorists who are not following directions of traffic control personnel and temporary road signage,” said Const. Maury Tyre.

According to a release from the Campbell River RCMP, changes will take place this spring and summer.

“The construction will be continuing for several months and motorists are being asked to exercise patience and pay close attention to the changes in traffic direction,” said Tyre.

Drivers are also reminded that their behaviour determines the safety of crews at road work sites. Police said injuries caused by driver negligence at a worksite could result in criminal charges.
