Campbell River residents reminded to beat the heat amid hot forecast

The City of Campbell River is reminding residents to take steps to stay safe during hot weather this week.

Forecasters are calling for temperatures to reach around 30 C this week, and the city is sharing locations of water fountains and cooling centres in the community.

Residents can find them at Tyee Spit, downtown, Willow Point Park, Frank James Park and several other locations.

The city is reminding residents to drink plenty of cool water, reduce strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day, wear sunscreen and protective clothing, and check on vulnerable friends, family members and neighbours.

More information on staying safe and cool is available through Island Health’s website.
