Libraries across the Island are getting a boost in funding.
This comes as the Vancouver Island Regional Library board approved its 2018 to 2022 financial plan.
The plan includes a balanced budget of just under $36,500,000 for next year and includes an increase of 3.98 per cent in municipal and rural levies.
It was approved at the board’s meeting this past Saturday.
The plan includes things like continuing to invest in digital technologies, committing to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, continuing to invest in its facilities and funding what the board calls innovative programming, collections and resources.
