Transformations on the Shore kicks off next week!

Frank James Park in Willow Point is playing host to one of Campbell River’s premier events.

The Shoreline Arts Society is hosting their 21st annual carving competition, Transformations on the Shore, starting on Wednesday, June 21st.

Society President Don Daniels says the competition attracts some very high profile carvers. This year, there will be a carver from Nova Scotia and one coming from Calgary.

He says if you’re looking to register, no matter your skill level, there’s still time. He adds that consultants will be on site to assist carvers who may not be as experienced as others.

“We invite a novice – if you want pick up a chainsaw, put on your safety gear and come and carve.”

Daniels says the event is a major tourist attraction. The competition kicks off June 21st and runs through Sunday, June 25th. For further details, visit the Society’s website at: crshorelinearts.ca.
