City approves partnering agreements for community beautification

Campbell River city council has approved in principle three 2026 partnering agreements for community beautification, totalling almost $35,000 in matching funds.

Beautification work will include maintaining planters, landscaping and downtown cigarette butt receptacles, installing art, repairing heritage signs and hosting community events.

The city said the program will provide $10,000 in matching funds to the Campbellton Neighbourhood Association, $14,978.50 to the Downtown Business Improvement Association and $10,000 to the Willow Point Business Improvement Association.

“The proposed partnering agreements will be brought back to council for final consideration following completion of the statutory notification requirements,” said a city release.

The agreement was approved during the June 11 council meeting.
