Fire Department kept busy

The Campbell River Fire Department responded to over 30 incidents since Friday.

Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Doherty says they responded to a single vehicle rollover accident Friday afternoon on Hilchey Road.
One occupant was trapped inside the vehicle, which hit a hydro pole, and rolled onto its side.

Doherty says firefighters had to stabilize the vehicle and remove the occupant who was then transported to hospital.

He adds crews also attended to a number of unattended beach fires over the weekends that were not fully extinguished.

The Fire Department would like to remind the public to ensure their fires are fully extinguished before leaving the area.
