The Minister of National Defence Jason Kenny was in Campbell River this past Sunday.
Kenny was appointed this position in 2015, and sits on the Cabinet Committees for Foreign Affairs and Security and Planning and Priorities.
Kenny says we should not overstate the threat of terrorism, but nor should we stick our heads in the sand and pretend like it doesn’t exist.
Kenny says the NDP and Liberals want to withdraw our troops from the international coalition involving all of historic democratic allies if ISIS were to succeed in creating a terror state.
He adds it would only pose a massive threat to regional and global security.
