On Friday night, RCMP West Coast Marine Section Vessel Lindsay was returning to Campbell River when crews came across four people in the water near Seymour Narrows.
RCMP immediately started rescue operations and notified the Coast Guard.
Sergeant Troy Beauregard says the conditions were poor and the men on the boat were not wearing personal flotation safety devices at the time.
Beauregard says it’s very fortunate the marine section crew was coming through at that time.
